We are Here for You
How many times have you determined you were going to change? This time is going to be the last. That Substance Use Disorder has cost you and the people you love too much, and it is time for a transformation. So, you summon all your willpower and determination, cut off all your supply and unhealthy relationships, and announce to the world that things will be different. And for a time, you do well, but once again, you are looking at this website because willpower and determination were not enough for the outcome you dream or desire.
The book definition of substance use disorder is when the recurrent use of alcohol and/or drugs causes clinically significant impairment, including health problems, disability, and failure to meet primary responsibilities at work, school, or home. These illnesses are common, recurrent, and often severe.
That definition helps give language to what you do, but at CORE, we care more about why you struggle. Your struggle often has little to do with a lack of willpower or your unwillingness. Instead, the fact that you are reading this should tell you that you are still trying to find a solution which is the first step to the outcome you desire. Identifying why you continue to reach for a substance that helps you for a moment but does not give a lasting solution and the quality of life you deserve is just one of the ways at CORE we treat substance use disorder as we treat your whole person and not simply try to modify old behaviors or habits.
